If all factors and the blue moon is right, there may be more than luck available to get noticed. Plus talent doesn't hurt, nor knowing other people in the business which is probably eighty percent of the game. No names remain unknown even if they are as rare as the most masterful scripts ever made. They are asking $600 which covers attendance at seminars (on how to pitch) and pitching to various production companies, agencies, and management companies. There's also an a la'carte option for a couple of hundred dollars. You pitch for say 5 minutes (it may be longer) to an assistant at a company. Most pitchfests charge about $25 a pitch. That's $300 an hour. Pitching to an assistant costs $300 an hour. This is not considered a rip off, and it shouldn't be. Yet you have a very miniscule chance at getting your script read.

So paying a reputable agent $500 for 2hrs of his time is a bargain. For $500 you get to go to the 36th Chamber of the Shaolin, pass go, collect $300K out of a 100 million they spend to make and advertise your movie. But before you send in your money make sure to go through the first 35 chambers.

Bruce said: "I also have to point out that it's kind of sad that when I post information about surging red box sales, which is the WWII equivalent of the Germans capturing the British Isles and New York, there's not one comment. And yet when I pose a mere hypothetical about increasing cost for writers, comments and readership go through the roof. Trust me redbox, netflix and the like are a far bigger threat to you writers."

Well for me this is like watching 2 T-rex go at it and the only weapon I have is a rock. At least in Modern Warfare 2 I had a minigun to help take back Washington DC from the Russians.

John

P.S. When you paint for the Pope paint Saints.
